In this first Q&A, we’re finding out more about Graham Heatley, our Group engineering manager who loves a challenge…

Name: Graham Heatley Job title: Group engineering manager Department: Engineering

Summarise your role in one paragraph: I am responsible for ensuring all machines and equipment used within our manufacturing process are functioning both safely and efficiently. This involves both preventative and reactivate maintenance, plus ensuring all engineering support is in place – be it mechanical or electrical.

What is your favourite part of the job? Every day brings something different – the variety of engineering challenges at Indigo ensure I'm always engaged.

Which three words do you think your colleagues would use to describe you? Thoughtful, determined and sincere.

Which word do you think best describes the ethos at Indigo?

Embracing – it’s a firm that’s keen to develop its staff and is committed to being at the forefront of industry innovation.

What’s been the most satisfying moment of your Indigo career so far? Improving the time taken to change faulty bearings on a friction wash, greatly reducing lost production time.

What are your hopes for Indigo in the coming year? That the business grows in both a sensible and sustainable manner and continues to positively invest in its people.
